Expiry date and pass/fail are never recorded from an extraction alone. They are set apart on screen, editable, and checked against the document before anything reaches the register.
Records that hold up to scrutiny
Confirmed certificates are append-only. Corrections are superseding records with a stated reason, never edits — so the register can always show what was known, and when.
A failure raises the work it implies
A failed certificate creates a remedial action linked back to the certificate that raised it, and the property is not reported compliant while it stands.
What is live today
Gas safety and electrical (EICR) are wired end to end: capture, extraction, human confirmation, the register, and the property compliance view. An EICR carries its own vocabulary — satisfactory or unsatisfactory, with observations coded C1, C2, C3 and FI — and a satisfactory report cannot be filed while an unremedied C1 or C2 stands against it. The remaining disciplines — energy performance, fire, water and legionella, asbestos, lifts, damp and mould — appear on the compliance view as not yet tracked rather than showing a status they have not earned.
